Baptist Health College Little Rock’s Student Nurses Association Hosts Christmas Donation Drive for Baptist Health Health at Home

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health College Little Rock’s (BHCLR) Student Nurses Association (SNA) hosted a stocking stuffer donation drive for Baptist Health hospice and home health patients. Throughout the month of November, students were encouraged to donate items such as socks, travel size toiletries, puzzle and coloring books, colored pencils, holiday decor and blankets. Baptist Health Health at Home received the donated items at an SNA event held at BHCLR on Dec. 4.

With a heart for serving others, the SNA wanted to give back to patients during the holidays- often a difficult season for both patients and their families.

“We chose to do a donation drive for hospice and home health as a way to give back,” said Kaitlin Wilson, president of the Student Nurses Association. “During this time of year we often forget about those who are in the hospital or without family. Donating these little gifts means the world to patients. You can see the joy on their faces because they are reminded that someone thought of them. Nursing is a whole person and body approach. Sometimes a little mood boost is all that a patient needs to get through the day.”

The SNA is a national organization whose mission is to mentor students preparing for licensure as a registered nurse and to convey the standards, ethics and skills students need as responsible and accountable leaders in the profession.
