DACA Frequently Asked Questions:
Transfer Students
Transfer Credit Evaluation
Prospective students may request an evaluation of transfer credit from the Registrar during the application process. Inquiries should be submitted by email to registrar@bhclr.edu or by scheduling an appointment to meet with the Registrar. The Registrar will also refer students to the Arkansas Course Transfer System for most general education credit inquiries.
Arkansas Course Transfer System
The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) is designed to assist in planning the academic progress of students from the high school level through the adult workforce. This system contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of credits for admission and degree requirements. Students may complete specified general education courses anywhere in the public system as well as many courses in the degree/major that have been pre-identified for transfer. The ACTS course descriptions and credit hours are used as the basis for comparison when evaluating general education coursework from other institutions. Course transferability is not guaranteed for courses listed in ACTS as “No Comparable Course.” Transferability of courses taken prior to January 1, 2007 is at the discretion of BHCLR. The Arkansas Course Transfer System can be accessed at https://adhe.edu/students-parents/transfer-info-for-students.
The Registrar will evaluate any courses not listed on the Arkansas Course Transfer System to determine transferability, including courses from other institutions in Arkansas as well as out of state. Course descriptions and/or syllabi may be submitted to help determine if a course is comparable to a general education course listed in ACTS.
