Heidi Niswander Named ‘Great 100 Nurses in Arkansas’

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Baptist Health College Little Rock (BHCLR) nursing faculty Dr. Heidi Niswander, DNP, RN, CHSE, was named to the Great 100 Nurses Foundation “Great 100 Nurses in Arkansas” list.

The mission of the Great 100 Nurses Foundation is to honor the work of nurses across five states for their heart for the profession and contributions to health care. Recipients were nominated for their compassion to those they serve, improvement to the nursing profession and mentorship of the next generation of nurses.

Niswander will be honored at a ceremony hosted by the foundation on Oct. 8 in Little Rock.

“I am very honored by this nomination,” Niswander said. “ I work with some of the best health care professionals at BHCLR and am humbled to know that my peers think the same of me. I view this nomination as the result of being a part of an awesome institution where our team supports and encourages each other to be their best.”

Niswander has been in her current teaching position with BHCLR for 17 years. She has taught in both the practical and traditional nursing programs. Today she is the course leader for the Women’s Health and Maternal Newborn course at the sophomore level of nursing.
