LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –Baptist Health College Little Rock (BHCLR) School of Nursing graduates passed their national certification exam administered by the National Council State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) with a 99.2% pass rate. The graduating class of 137 students comprised of Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 graduates, 136 passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on the first attempt. Of the 23 nursing programs that grant associate degrees in Arkansas, BHCLR had the highest number of graduates take and pass the exam.
The NCLEX-RN examination is required for all nurses across the United States to obtain a license to practice nursing. The NCLEX-RN ensures nurses enter the field with the ability to safely care for patients.
Schelista Glenn, DNP, RN, associate dean of nursing for the School of Nursing, is proud of the graduates and faculty for their achievement.
“Our nursing graduates have demonstrated exceptional competence and dedication, achieving a 99.2% pass rate on the NCLEX,” Glenn said. “This outstanding accomplishment is a reflection of their hard work, the quality of our curriculum and the unwavering support from our faculty. At BHCLR, we strive to prepare graduates to deliver safe and competent care. We are confident that these new nurses will go on to be leaders in health care as they are the future of the nursing profession.”
Joel Hicks, EdD, RT(R), president of BHCLR, believes these board pass rates are a reflection of the nursing students and their dedication.
“Achieving a 99.2% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN is a significant milestone for our graduates and our institution,” Hicks said. It speaks volumes about the dedication of our students, the expertise of our faculty and the effectiveness of our nursing education program.
