Baptist Health College Little Rock Surgical Technology Graduates Accomplish 91% Board Pass Rate
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –Baptist Health College Little Rock (BHCLR) School of Surgical Technology graduates passed their national certification exam administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) with a 91% pass rate. The graduating class of 11 had 10 students pass on the first attempt.
The NBSTSA certification examination ensures surgical technologists meet the national knowledge that underlies surgical technology practice. Certification is voluntary, but the choice to become certified showcases BHCLR’s commitment to producing leaders in health care. Becoming a Certified Surgical Technologist exhibits pride in the field, mastery of principles and the commitment to providing quality patient care.
Angee Bowie, AAS, CST, School of Surgical Technology program director, is proud of her students and their hard work in passing their certification.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for achieving such high pass rates on their national certification exam,” Bowie said. “This accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, dedication and the rigorous training provided by our surgical technology program. Our graduates are now well-prepared to excel in their careers and make significant contributions to the health care field.”
Joel Hicks, EdD, RT(R), president of BHCLR, believes these board pass rates are a reflection of the quality of the surgical technology program.
“This accomplishment underscores the high-quality education and hands-on training provided by our dedicated faculty and staff,” Hicks said. “Our program’s success is a direct reflection of our commitment to excellence and our mission to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the health care industry. Congratulations to our students and faculty for setting such a high standard of excellence.”
