Four Christmas Activities in Central Arkansas

Christmas time is here. Family and friends gather together, Christmas lights illuminate the dark night, the smell of baked goods encompasses your kitchen. This season brings back old memories and new ones are made with the ones you love. Celebrate the merriest time of the year in central Arkansas with these four activities that are sure to bring others together.

1. Watch a Christmas movie with your family

A Christmas activity for the entire family– a cozy night in watching a Christmas movie! Pop popcorn and watch the movie from a fort built in the living room using blankets. A memorable and inexpensive evening for your family!

2. Look at Christmas lights

Make hot chocolate, turn up the Christmas music and cruise around central Arkansas looking at Christmas lights. A few locations to include on your tour is the state capitol, Sherwood Trail of Lights, and GloWILD at the Little Rock Zoo. If you’re interested in a short drive, visit Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs and see the forest lit up in sparkling lights. Enjoy them by foot or by golf cart.  For a fun addition to your Christmas light tour, order these glasses to view the lights!

3. Volunteer at a nonprofit

Serve others this holiday season at a local nonprofit. The Christmas season is one of giving. Connect with local nonprofits like the Arkasnsas Food Bank, Our House or the Salvation Army. Find volunteer opportunities that fit your interests and passions. This makes your service all the more meaningful!

4. Host a cookie swap party with your friends

Get your friends together and host a cookie swap party. Bake your favorite cookies and share them with others. Put on a Christmas movie and make hot chocolate for a cozy night in with your friends.

Enjoy this special holiday season with your loved ones and make memories. Merry Christmas!
